Keep Leading Zeros when importing data into Excel

Solution

Follow the following instructions to keep leading zeros in data when importing from CSV file into Excel:

Open a new, blank Excel file.

Go to the Data tab, then the Get External Data section and choose From Text.
Select your CSV file, then click Import.
 
Original Data Type: select Delimited
Check the box if you data has a header
 
Next
 
Delimiters: select Comma
 
Column Data Format: select Text
 
In the Data Preview select the first column, then press shift and select the last column to highlight all columns.
 
Finish.
 
This should change all columns to text type and keep any leading zeros in the data.
